When Marc and I had our first Christmas in our own apartment 26 years ago, we had barely enough money for a tree. Mom gave us ornaments, but we didn't have anything for the top. Improvising, Marc rummaged through his unfinished models and found his orange unfinished pterodactyl. He was wired to the top, named Ptery, and joins us every year.

31 Days of Decorations: Day 1 Brains
There are many decorations and ornaments around my house this time of year and it's time to tell their stories.
Day 1: Brains
I made thes out of melted glass mixed with garbage. Or something like that. It must have been in 2nd grade or so. Marc dubbed them "brains" and they hang on the tree each year. Signa and Will are so lucky that when I go, there is one for each of them to remember me by.
